FEATURES: Glabrous, rhizomatous perennial sedge common throughout the southeast. Globe like seedhead
with leaves subtending.
DESCRIPTION: Almost indistinguishable from green kyllinga. Green kyllinga is primarily restricted to coastal or
tropical environments. False-green is found more inland from Florida to Kentucky and to Connecticut.
Green kyllinga produces small teeth along seed edge, false-green does not. Both are common in wet
areas.
