What Margaret DOES Now

My current job as a pharmacy student is a busy one. The first two years of this four- year program involves 18 hours per semester of classroom lectures, laboratory experiences and patient visits. Year three is spent in teams learning pharmacotherapy in a case based structure, laboratory experiences and leader of a patient care team. In year four, we do rotations working in various pharmacy settings including but not limited to retail, hospitals, ambulatory care and veterinary. During my time at HSOP, I have been to a faculty retreat and to the Alabama Pharmacy Legislative Day in Montgomery. I have attended Medicare enrollment drives as a certified SHIP Medicare Counselor to help further explain Medicare and the enrollment process. We have patient visits in the Auburn area every week to help those needing assistance in monitoring their prescription and non-prescription drugs. I am sure my past experiences as an Ag Ambassador helped me to be chosen as an inaugural member of the Harrison School of Pharmacy Ambassadors. It was quite an honor for me as only 25 students were chosen by a faculty committee. We work with the faculty and staff to advance the teaching, research and outreach mission of the school.

Auburn Memories

I loved my years on Ag Hill, the faculty and friends met here will forever be with me. I enjoyed my years working as an Ag Ambassador and being able to serve as vice president my senior year. It was great to be able to get involved within my major by being a member and later president of the Agronomy Club. Probably, my best memory is attending the Ag Ambassador National Convention held at The University of California-Davis. A group of eight ambassadors went to the convention to receive the national award for Service for our ambassador program here at Auburn. We met and shared ideas with other Ag Ambassadors from all over the United States. We did some touring of the beautiful agriculture farms and businesses in northern California.
