CSES Club Involvement


Food Bank Garden (Year Round)

Starting Fall 2015, the CSES club has grown fresh fruits and vegetables and 100% of the harvest goes to the Food Bank of East Alabama.  Volunteers are always needed to maintain the garden and transport goods to the foodbank.  For information on how to help and directions, contact Evie Smith.

Annual Corn Sale (Summer)

Each year to raise money for the club’s activities CSES members grows and sells sweet corn to the College of Agriculture.  All excess corn is donated to the East Alabama Food Bank and volunteers are needed to tend, harvest, and sell the corn.  For more information, contact Connor Webster.

Ag Roundup (October 1st, 2016)

Hosted by the Agricultural Alumni Association at beautiful Ag Heritage Park, this event draws thousands each homecoming Saturday morning for food, fun and fellowship.  In addition to food, Ag Roundup offers informative displays, children’s activities, a visit from Aubie and live and silent auctions that raise money for College of Agriculture scholarships.

CSES Club will need volunteers to man a putting green and boiled peanut booth.  To learn how you can help, contact Connor Webster for more information.

Ag Discovery Adventure Day (October 8, 2016)

Hosted by the Alabama Cooperative Extension System, the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station and Auburn University’s College of Agriculture, Ag Discovery Adventure will offer adults and children entertaining and enlightening hands-on activities and presentations that will showcase agricultural technology and illustrate the key role agriculture plays in every aspect of our lives.

Volunteering with Ag Discovery day is a great opportunity to educate the public in agriculture.  For the sign-up sheet and more information, email Connor Webster.

SASES National Conference (November 6-9, 2016)

Members of CSES Club have the opportunity to attend and represent Auburn University at the annual ASA, CSSA, SSSA Meeting.  The club participates in many contests against other universities, including

  • Club Poster Contest
  • Presidents’ Trophy
  • Speech Contest
  • Visual Presentation Contest
  • Quiz Bowl
  • Crops Judging Showcase
  • Research Symposium (Oral and/or Poster)
